About Maya

I'm born and raised in Columbus, OH (Go Bucks!). My background is in digital publishing, interactive marketing, and Japanese language and culture. I chose to pivot into design and research and earned my MFA in Design Research and Development in 2021 from The Ohio State University. I've studied and practiced multiple design disciplines, including UX, service design, and VR/AR. In continuing my education, not only was I driven to create things and experiment in new areas, but I also aimed to strengthen my empathetic muscle to construct actionable and effective solutions.

My hobbies include drawing, reading and collecting graphic novels/comics, and ice skating. I also love traveling and lazing around the house with my chiweenie.
